Dr. Chander Prakash working as Group Pro-Vice Chancellor at Rayat Bhara University, Punjab, India. He served as the Pro-Vice Chancellor - Research & Development at Chandigarh University and Dean-Research & Development at Lovely Professional University. He is a dedicated teacher and researcher who embraces student-centric approaches, providing experiential learning to his students. Dr. Prakash is serving NAAC accessor and served as Chairperson of NAAC visits. He is a passionate researcher with diversified research interests- developing materials for Biomedical and Healthcare applications, additive manufacturing, and developing and exploring new cost-effective manufacturing technologies. He has published over 500 (460 SCI/Scopus) scientific articles in peer-reviewed, reputable, top-notch journals, conferences, and books. Dr. Prakash is a highly cited researcher at the international level, and he has 13000 citations, an H-index of 62, and an i-10 index of 244. He is consistently featured in the list of India's Top 1% of leading scientists of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as Research.com in 2022 and 2023 and holds 24th rank in India and 1414th rank in the world in 2023. He also consistently appeared in the top 2% of researchers as per Stanford Study in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Dr. Prakash edited/authored 25 books, serving as a Series editor of 2 books and as Guest Editor of several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Prakash raised over a million USD in grants from various national and international bodies, including the Ministry of Science & Technology India, UKIERI-DST and SERB Government of India. He has a strong global network of >400 researchers in different fields of study. He is developing strategies to build and strengthen the research ecosystem of University via raising funds through research projects and consultancy; developing University-Industry Connect; developing a sound technology deployment platform by the Centre of Excellence and Research Centres; E-journals and publication house of the University; lead on the research visibility to improve research perception and impact; promote innovation which results in IPR generation. Dr. Prakash organized various international conferences and faculty development programs.
